Moniese Nomp Romp
Trail Run at Twin Creeks
When? Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024 10 AM
Where? Next to Morris Grove Elementary School, 215 Eubanks Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27516
Moniese Nomp?? Please join your fellow Godiva members by coming out and running/volunteering at the Moniese Nomp Romp. The event will take place on the diverse trails on/around the Twin Creeks Greenway Trail. Orange County plans to establish Twin Creeks Park on this land which is also known as “Moniese Nomp” ("Twin Creeks" in the Occoneechee language). Here is a course map.
What? About 4.5 miles on a two loop course featuring a mixture of paved greenway trails, fun single track, an abandoned(?) slightly spooky farm, grassy fields and bridle trails. Water and energy drink before, during (if warm/sunny) and after; pretzels, bagels, bananas after.
How? You can register for the race on-site from 9:00am to 9:50am. Cost is a suggested donation of $5.00 for this individual race. Please don’t plan on showing up at 9:55am and expect to run or volunteer; allow enough time to get there and get parked. You can sign up for the entire remaining runs in this season's Carolina Godiva Track Club Winter Series for $25 if you are a CGTC member. There are still four races to follow after the Moniese Nomp Romp.
Why? Water before, during (if warm/sunny) and after; pretzels, bagels, bananas after. Chocolate prizes for 1st overall male/female, 1st male/female masters, 1st male/female grandmasters, youngest, oldest, stick-to-it award. Finishing or volunteering for the Moniese Nomp Romp gets you a point closer to your personal edition of the Incredibly Beautiful 2023-2024 Godiva Winter Series shirt[™].
Please carpool if possible.
If you want to help out by volunteering for the CGTC WS Moniese Nomp Romp, please email me (Heiko Rath) or send me a text message prior to race day at 919-724-4209 (bonus points for using Signal instead out outdated text messaging).
