Race Director: Richard Smith
Help with the Handicapping: If you're even thinking that you might run, please use this handicap information form to report some recent race results.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Eno State Park policy will not allow us to collect cash at day of race registration for the Eno Equalizer. For that reason, we must ask participants who aren't already Winter Series registrants to please use this PayPal button to pay the $5.00 entry fee. The Course
We will use the same course as in previous years, which is one complete circuit of the Cox Mountain trail, nominally 4.1 miles but quite hilly.
Here's a larger PDF of the course map. All the trails of the Eno River State Park can be viewed on the park map.
Trail Description: Enter Eno River State Park (6101 Cole Mill Rd, Durham) at the Few's Ford entrance on Cole Mill Road. Park at the main parking area (large circular lot). At the far side of the parking lot and slightly to the right, there is a large picnic shelter. The start and finish is in front of this shelter.
- From the start, run along paved road for approximately 50 yards, then turn left and on to the unpaved trail.
- Follow this trail down some steep steps for approximately ¼ mile until you come to the wooden bridge over the river.
- PLEASE WALK, NOT RUN, ON THIS BRIDGE!
- Continue to follow the main trial for about another half mile until the turn-off on the left, marked Cox Mountain Trail.
- Take the left turn-off and complete the main loop of the trail in a clockwise direction, following Cox Mountain Trail signs and blue blazes all the way.
- Eventually you get back to the turn-off and then continue back along the same trail, back over the bridge (WALK, NOT RUN), up the steep steps, and then back to the picnic shelter where you started.
